Q: Are they metal or plastic?

A: Our buckles are plastic.

Q: Can you get metal so they won’t break?

A: We do not offer metal buckles.

Q: When should I replace my spa cover buckles?

A: Replace a buckle if it is cracked, broken, missing or no longer fastens securely. Damaged buckles can prevent the cover's locking straps from functioning as intended and may allow the cover to shift more easily when the spa is not in use.

Q: How many replacement buckles are included?

A: The Replacement Buckle Kit includes a set of four buckles, providing replacement hardware for multiple locking points on your hot tub cover.

Q: Will these replacement buckles fit my existing spa cover?

A: Buckle styles and sizes can vary between spa covers. Before ordering, compare the replacement buckle configuration with the hardware currently installed on your cover. Q: How do I replace the male side of the buckle if my current male side is sewn into my cover?

A: Excellent question! Once your order is placed, please reach out to us to let us know that you will need a plastic piece called a Tri-Glide added to your kit, to allow your straps to be converted to adjustable ones. You can email us at support@spa-mart.com or call us at 1-800-823-3618. If your current strap is made out of a polypropylene webbing, we recommend cutting part of the strap to remove the broken buckle. Once you have removed the broken clip, use a lighter and carefully burn the edge of the strap to prevent fraying. To burn the edges, carefully hover the end of the strap over the flame for a few seconds. Once you have completed this step, you can attach the new buckle and plastic tri-glide. The tri-glide will hold the new male buckle on the strap without the need to re-sew the portion you had to cut and will allow your straps to be adjustable.
