Q: How do you install it? Do you have to drain the tub?

Q: How tall can the spa be? Ours is 4.5 ft tall.
A: The Cover Rock-It is adjustable. However, the manufacturer lists the maximum spa height as 44". 4.5ft would be 54".
Q: Will this lift work for a spa that's 63" wide?
A: Yes. This lifter can accommodate a cover that is up to 100" wide. As long as the 63" side is the length of the hinge, you will be all right.
Q: Will it fit my 5' X 7" hot tub?
A: Yes. This lifter can fit covers up to 100" (just over 8').
Q: Will this cover lifter work on a cover 93" X 108 " if the hinge is on the 93" side?
A: If the length of the fold is 100" or less, this lifter should be able to accommodate it. The biggest concern would be the height of each half of the cover. You do not want the cover to hit or drag on the ground while it is in the upright position. For a 108" cover, when folded in half, the height would be roughly 54". This means you would need at least 54" from the ground to the top of the bar so the cover can sit upright. For many spa set-ups, this would be too large to work with the Cover Rock-It. It is also important to note that the lifter manufacturer, Cover Valet, states the maximum spa height for the Cover Rock-It is 44".
Q: For the lifters that go under the spa, can that be done with it already set up and full for the PDC Fiji LX model
A: While it is possible to slide the undermount plate under the spa whiles it's full, it is highly unrecommended. Doing this can potentially damage your spa and the lifter, as well as cause injury to the individual who is setting it up. We always recommend draining the tub to set the lifter up. Many people like to take this as an opportunity to deep clean and reset the tub for the next use.

A: The Cover Rock-It is designed to fit most square and rectangular hot tubs with covers measuring up to 100 inches. It works with spas approximately 30 to 44 inches tall and requires at least 18 inches of clearance behind the hot tub and 3.5 inches on each side. It is not designed for round, irregularly shaped, inground, or swim spas. Before purchasing, measure your hot tub and available clearance to confirm compatibility.
